Woodie’s
Ummm, not sure how to start this one because I’m still in shock that it happened. But I was asked to leave by the owner halfway thru the show last night. He sited the fact no one was into it and they were all complaining that they didn’t like what I did…… So, he wrote me a check and told me to go home. Of course the people with me all left because they were pissed. And about half the people in the bar left when I started tearing down……… So, what am I missing here? Or should I say the staff is missing.
The manager sited no one liked the music I played. It was too heavy…….. Of COURSE I hear Slipnot playing in the background. That is nowhere near as heavy as “Another Brick in the Wall” by Floyd………. Then he tells me that no one likes the “old” music that I play….. At this point “Sweet Home Alabama” is playing on the jukebox. So, I said tell me another one to which he said, “people don’t like old heavy music.” While I am tearing down, I hear two Metallica songs that I play and several other hard rock songs……….. Needless to say that infuriated me more.
So, I am not sure what is going on with this place, but its apparently not a good thing. I’ll keep you informed if I am pulling any future gigs from here.
Ignore that guy, don’t let him get you down. You don’t want to play there if you have to constantly keep taking shit from that guy. There are plenty of places that want you to play.

well it didn’t say for them to play classic rock in “how to run a business for dummies” so they don’t think it’s necessary. Honestly, I mean all that one goofy lookin fucker does is walk around, push a couple buttons on the register, then walk around, then spit fire, then push buttons on the register. He obviously has no idea what he’s doing and is just trying to look busy. And all the goofy short guy managed to do all night was piss off the entertainment and side with the tall goofy fucker because he sure as hell looked busy all night.
Everytime I’ve been there and your playing the place is a madhouse. They have to be shoveling in the money. I always figured that when something is going right, that you don’t try to fuck it up. But I can’t spit fire so I obviously have no idea how to run a business.

eh just sounds like the owner doesn’t like you, or the music, because his bar staff was gleaming over how good you were and how they love everything you play(ed).
and Friday people were coming and going, and the people that stayed the whole time were enjoying the music the entire time! i never heard ANYONE complain about what was being played!!!!!

okay, so i still can’t believe that the owner asked you to pack up halfway through the show. i mean WTF? you were rocking out and everybody that was around me was enjoying it.. i’m a believer in if its not broke, then dont fix it.. but apparently that guy was just a moron and wouldn’t know good music if it kicked him in the head. anyway, i dont ever plan on going back there unless you’re playing and dont let that asshole get you down!! keep rockin!

Well the only reason I have ever went to Woodie’s is because you were playing up there. So that contradicts the owners impression of what his crowd likes in his bar. To sum it up; OMEB brings people to his bar and he is going to be feeling stupid when his patrons are wondering why you don’t play up there anymore and leave.

What happened at Woodies’ is such bullshit! They don’t know how bad they messed up. Everyone there was into your show, singing along, and a good time was seemed to be had by all untill that happened. The management there is pathetic, and they’ll realize how much they fucked up when they realize how much money they lost when people left after your set.

Woodies having pulled the plug on Mike while he was in the middle of a set is the most unprofessional shit I’ve ever heard. Bar Owners / Managers should not base their personal opinion on what bands they like playing their bar. They should base the opinion on the customers and how much the crowd digs the bands.

Sounds to me like the owner had a piece of ass lined up (or so he thought) that was bitching about the music. The sorry part is he probably couldn’t/ didn’t and was out the money for services not rendered and a shitty night’s buisiness. I know were I WON”T be going anymore.

I know the only reason my friends and I went to Woodie’s on Saturday was because you were playing otherwise I never would have gone. We went just for O.M.E.B. Just so you know we even made tee-shirts for the occasion!! I can promise I won’t go back to that place unless you are playing. I liked every song you played and we were having a great time singing along. You beat the hell out of the shitty old juke box! P.S. the fucking bartenders sucked ass!!! I stood at a half empty bar for ten minutes waiting for a drink while the beer bitches were doing shots with their friends. If this guy wants to please his customers he needs to let our favorite band continue to play and find some bartenders that are somewhat interested in serving drinks to their patrons.

Its a shame that two or three losers ruined my night man. I’ll have to think twice about going to woodies again. Its a great bar but i just dont know about after this weekend. Ya know eer is beer no matter where ya drink it.

that’s another thing, following omeb around, i’d have to say that woodies is BY FAR, the WORST bar in all of nky, and probably even cincinati to try to buy a fucking beer at. It regularly takes me at least 5 minutes (sometimes every bit of 10 minutes)to buy a drink, and that’s with me standing with money in hand and no-one else waiting.
I’ve got an idea, instead of being rocket scientists about it, just do what your there to fucking do, SERVE ME ALCOHOL! It’s hard telling how much more I would buy in a night if I could get it in a reasonable amount of time.

well lets just say i will never be going to woody’s again, that place is really lame and boring, my friend’s and i only went when you were playing, was the owner drunk or something????? if he really wants to do something to make the bar better he should maybe help the bartenders make some drinks or hire more help, it took me about 15 min to get a drink, the bartender was too busy taking off her clothes, then she didn’t even make it right, my shot of purple hooter was RED!!!!!!!! oh well, there are plenty of other bar’s that want to book you, i heard Game Day Sports Cafe is looking to book, and they get a hell of a crowd when the Reds and Bengals are in town, they would love ya there,don”t let it get ya down, i will be telling everyone about this, and i will be taking my money elsewhere, some place that rocks, WOODY’S SUCKS!!!!!!!
